Pretty ProcrastinationPosted: March 16, 2014 | |
My stepfather is an avid photographer. I can’t go on a walk or drive with him that doesn’t end up in us stopping for at least five minutes to take a picture of a friendly pigeon or the fog creeping over the mountains early in the morning in Pt. Reyes Station. Unlike most photographers today, he doesn’t keep them all stored in a hard drive, he actually has an over printing problem. This is just one of the many shelves full of beautiful photos hiding in a closet.
Quite the waste if you ask me. So lately in an attempt to avoid doing my schoolwork, I’ve been creating mini galleries of his work. I especially like this one because it tells the story of my family without using any standard portraits. Instead it shows where we’ve been and where we like to be. Also, it gave me an excuse to take down the ugly motel-style prints that once hung in gaudy frames, hence the picture hanging nails still in the wall. Once I get a hammer, those are going too.
